Lauren Elizabeth

So even though Lauren just got stitches in this picture, I still love it.  She just turned 3 and is our emotional child.  She loves to sing and dance.  The best part of it is, she makes up her own songs.  Our most recent favorite one is where she sings "Don't you think I'm a princess?", over and over at the top of her lungs, followed by some verses that make no sense whatsoever.  She is an incredibly sweet child but can be a fireball as well.  She loves playing with her sister and the two of them can play for hours and they both have quite the imagination.  It's amazing how upset they get at each other when one pretends to take the other's nose and won't give it back!

Brody Clayton

So, for those of you who we consider our friends but still haven't heard about our lateset here he is!!  Former premie, future linebacker, Brody was born six weeks premature after Brooke was in the hospital for four weeks on Dec 27 of last year.  He was born at 5 lb 9 oz, 19 inches long.  He may have rivaled the 19 pounder if he'd have gone to term.  He made up the curve within about four months and now is off the charts.  He was finally able to get enough off the ground to start crawling and is now all over the place.  This picture is a few months old.  It's his 'dear-in-the-headlight' look, which, funny enough, is the same as his 'you-expect-me-to-eat-that' look and his 'I've-gotta-see-a-man-about-a-horse' look.
His sisters love to cuddle with him and kiss him.  Unfortunately, he doesn't always love it in return.  When he's fed and clean he's an awesome little boy and we're stoked to have him!!

All Hallow's Eve Resolution

So we recently got together with some friends in Utah for the BYU/TCU game (which I won't comment on). One said that we needed to update our blog as we hadn't posted anything since March of 2008. What can I say?! The final straw was when we walked in to another friends' home carrying our third child and they were shocked to see we had had another kid, who is now almost a year old! Yeah, we suck. So here we go. Gonna try this again! Enjoy.

Been a While

We sure had a great snow storm this winter! This is some dirt in our backyard that didn't get pushed around, so now we have a sledding hill! Most of our snow fun would happen after the sun dropped. We would set up a flood light and head out to play.
The snow is starting to melt and we're left with mud! We don't have a yard put in yet, but hope to do the bare minimum to get grass (sprinklers and maybe some curbing), this spring/summer.

Cody has been asked to play guitar and sing at our Stake Priest Laurel Dinner Dance. I am excited to see him play. It is a "world affair," so he will even be playing some French songs. I can't help it, oui, oui!

The girls are at a fun stage. Jaycee and Lauren play pretty well together. We all have moments though. It's fun to watch Jaycee help hoist Lauren up onto the couch upstairs. She is her advocate letting me know what she needs. Especially if it story time at the library and Lauren is going down for a quick nap just before we go. Jaycee will let me know, "Lauren doesn't WANT to take a nap she wants to go to the library."
This is an outfit Jaycee's friend Saddie gave her. If it's clean she'll wear it every day!

Catchin' Up

Hey! We really didn't want to be the last ones on the block to have a blog, so here we are, even though we really have no idea what we're doing. We've had so much fun reading everyone else's!

Life has been crazy but great. I manage to keep myself pretty busy between the girls, church, outings, shopping, crafts, housework, sleeping, working out, and keeping Cody in line. I've been serving in YW and am loving it. I do somehow manage to find some time for myself in between it all.

Cody's loving his residency, although right now he's working with a PM&R guy and is kind of bored. He's serving in the EQ presidency and is working hard.

The girls are getting to be be so big!
